Rental Information

Performance and Recording Rates

Hall Rental - $50 per hour or $200 per day (max. 8 hours)

House Manager - $15 per hour (min. 3 hr charge)

Recording Engineer - $30 per hour (min 3 hr charge)

Maintenance Fee: $10 added to each event or recording session

Taxes - 13%

Please note: Should you need your performance amplified, The Music Room can provide a 12-channel Soundcraft Board with 2-JBL main speakers and 2 monitors for a fee of $75.00. Also, should you require the piano to be tuned then our exclusive tuner can do so for $95.00 plus taxes. These options must be discussed in advance.

Also, a $100/day deposit is required along with a credit card number to hold a booking. The credit card will be used as security of payment and will be charged the remaining balance the day following your event.

A Unique Space

The Music Room can be rented for a wide variety of purposes – concerts, recording, recitals, plays, rehearsals, seminars, and presentations.

It provides a warm and intimate setting for concerts, and houses a New York built, 9 foot Model D, Steinway piano and a 24-track digital recording studio.

The hall and recording console enables live hall sound reproduction for CD recordings – an invaluable resource for seasoned professionals, teachers, students and emerging artists.

Thanks to a generous yearly donation from Aliant, The Music Room rental rates are low, allowing easy access to all who are interested in presenting concerts, workshops, readings, etc including professionals, amateurs, community groups, teachers and students.

Who’s it for?

The Music Room is for everyone with an interest in a fine acoustic sound experience. The facility is available for rent to any organization or individual from all disciplines within the artistic community whether it be musicians, spoken word artists or dancers.

The following services are the responsibility of the presenter:

• Piano tuning (Fred Haines exclusive tuner - cost $90 plus HST)

• Program and ticket printing

• Advance publicity

• Liquor license

• Advance ticket sales

• At-door ticket sales

• Stage manager services

• PA system, live sound engineer

• Ushers

• Music stands (limited number of folding type available through The Music Room)
